Like main and first office of our Group of Companies, in her it resides the administrative coordination and the directive staff.

Carmelo Martinez Rodriguez, S.L.,  develops from 1915 the activity of ship's agency and stevedore's company.

At the moment these two activities have been complemented with those of Agency of Customs, Agency of Transport, International Forwarder, Storage and distribution.

Like main activities of business,  Carmelo Martinez Rodriguez, S.L. is absolute leader in how much to number of control of ships nonpertaining to shipping with own representation in the port of Melilla. We control  90% of the traffics of containers of this port thanks to a weekly service of containers feeder that Melilla communicates yet the world.

Our delegation of Melilla has been in charge for several years of the control of the vessels of Cemex España, S.A., company of the Cemex group. This company has a warehouse to the storage and distribution of bulk cement and bags cement to their clients.

On the other hand Carmelo Martinez Rodriguez, S.L. is in charge of the control and operations of stevedoring of the new traffics of bulks that are being developed in that port: iron and steel wheat, products, heavy machinery, etc...

We counted on own Agency of Customs by means of which we controlled more of 60% of all the imports of cargoes arrived to Melilla coming from third countries. Our department of customs, highly specialized in customs matters and foreign trade, counts on direct connection via EDI with the Administration for the sending and transaction of the declarations, diminishing the term of office of the declarations of our clients.

We have established the only direct service of groupage cargo from Barcelona, Alicante and Madrid with Melilla that exists in Spain, having moved 7,000 shipments with a volume of more than 10,000 m3 of national cargoes.

On the other hand our delegation of Malaga has established a service of full loads and groupage to Melilla, offering our clients the possibility of receiving a service of quality to low cost.

 In our regulating warehouses we discharge all the cargoes of our clients to make their later distribution.

Another one of service is the of storage of products of our clients who therefore require it and its later delivery in address according to their conveniences.

During 1999 it was gotten up to the services that already come receiving our clients the activity from Mail, thanks to the company/signature of the contract of agency with the company leader in the sector and pioneer in the introduction of the concept to courier at national level, implanting the first intelligent service of deliveries.

As forwarders we offer to our clients services of grupage and full loads from most of the economic zones (Far and Middle East, USA and the EEC). During the past year 2002 they were made more than 6,000 files of import and export.
